How information becomes an answer

Regulatory information is not copied from the web: it is extracted from its official source, structured into usable data, then verified before being published. Until that verification has taken place, the data exists but is not served.

When an official text is used, Lou preserves its exact meaning: the original passage is stored alongside the data, and it is what prevails. No rewording alters its scope.

Where its information comes from

Lou relies on official reference sources: ANSM and the public medicines database, EFSA for claims, HMPC for plants, EUDAMED for medical devices, CosIng and SCCS for cosmetics, Compl’Alim for supplements.

Those reference sources are themselves the result of an expert assessment of the scientific literature. Lou serves that assessment rather than selecting its own studies: an isolated publication therefore cannot be presented on a par with an authority’s position. When a manufacturer source is used, it is identified as such.

How each piece of data stays bound to its origin

Every published contraindication, dose and claim carries the reference of the document it comes from, and, where the text lends itself to it, the exact quotation of the passage.

This is not formatting, it is the very structure of the data: a contraindication cannot be published without the evidence that justifies it. What has no identifiable origin is not served.

What Lou does when it does not know

When information is missing, contradictory or insufficiently established, Lou says so rather than filling in with an assumption. If data exists only for a country other than yours, it says so and points you to a professional, it never transposes silently.

Lou does not diagnose and replaces neither your pharmacist nor your doctor. As soon as a question goes beyond advice, it hands over.

How promotions are kept separate from answers

Lou works with many brands and points of sale without secretly favouring any of them. Sponsored content is identified as such and never influences Lou’s factual answers. The useful answer comes before commercial promotion.

How quality is checked

Automated checks run every day over the reference data: a dose with no calculation basis, an orphaned contraindication, overlapping age brackets, published data that has become unusable. What they find is fixed, not hidden.

Every publication leaves a trace, who published, when, from which state, with a snapshot of the content at that moment. A correction does not rewrite history, it adds to it. When an official source changes, the data that depends on it is revised or withdrawn.

Part of the reference data is already validated by an identified reviewer. Review by external healthcare professionals strengthens that validation over time, and it is shown where it exists: content that has not been reviewed does not claim it.
