Zinc ricinoleate is a compound obtained by synthesis from castor oil (plant-based and synthetic origin). It fulfills three roles in cosmetic formulations: it acts as a fragrance by providing an olfactory note, as an opacifying agent by reducing the transparency of the product, and as a masking agent by attenuating undesirable odors.
