TEA-DEXTRIN OCTENYLSUCCINATE
Ingredient of plant and synthetic origin obtained by chemical modification of dextrin. It fulfills several roles in formulations: emollient, humectant, surfactant, and emulsifier, used in skin and hair care.
Roles & functions
Skin conditioning — Keeps the skin in good condition and protects it; improves its comfort.
Emollient — Softens and smooths the skin while limiting water loss.
Hair conditioning — Improves the appearance, softness and manageability of the hair.
Surfactant — Lowers the tension between two surfaces; cleanses and helps remove impurities.
Emulsifying — Allows phases that do not naturally mix, such as water and oil, to be blended together.
Humectant — Attracts and retains water to help maintain hydration.
