Sunflower seed oil ethyl ferulate esters
Ingredient obtained by chemical synthesis from vegetable sunflower oil. This ester fulfills several roles in cosmetics: emollient to soften the skin, antioxidant to prevent the oxidation of formulas, UV filter to absorb ultraviolet rays, and emulsifier to stabilize water-oil mixtures. It is also used in hair care products.
Roles & functions
Skin conditioning — Keeps the skin in good condition and protects it; improves its comfort.
Emollient — Softens and smooths the skin while limiting water loss.
Hair conditioning — Improves the appearance, softness and manageability of the hair.
Antioxidant — Limits oxidation and helps preserve the formula over time.
Emulsifying — Allows phases that do not naturally mix, such as water and oil, to be blended together.
UV filter — Filters part of the UV radiation.
