Sorbeth-30 is an ingredient of synthesized plant origin, derived from sorbitol. It fulfills several roles in cosmetic formulations: surfactant and emulsifier to stabilize water-oil mixtures, humectant to retain moisture, thickener to adjust texture, and solvent to dissolve other ingredients.
