Paraffinum Liquidum, also known as mineral oil, is a refined petroleum derivative of mineral and synthetic origin. It performs several roles in cosmetics: emollient, solvent, antistatic, and fragrance ingredient.

Antistatic — Reduces static electricity, particularly on the hair.
Solvent — Dissolves other ingredients to incorporate them into the formula.
