Linoleic acid
Linoleic Acid is a polyunsaturated fatty acid of plant or synthetic origin. It acts as an emollient in cosmetic formulations. It can also act as a surfactant and antistatic agent.
Roles & functions
Skin conditioning — Keeps the skin in good condition and protects it; improves its comfort.
Emollient — Softens and smooths the skin while limiting water loss.
Hair conditioning — Improves the appearance, softness and manageability of the hair.
Surfactant — Lowers the tension between two surfaces; cleanses and helps remove impurities.
Antistatic — Reduces static electricity, particularly on the hair.
