Walnut leaf
The Common Walnut (JUGLANS REGIA LEAF) is an ingredient of plant origin derived from the leaves of the walnut tree. It is used in cosmetic formulations as a surfactant, thickening agent, astringent, and abrasive, and also provides a perfuming function.
Roles & functions
Skin conditioning — Keeps the skin in good condition and protects it; improves its comfort.
Perfuming — Adds a scent to the product or masks the odour of raw materials.
Surfactant — Lowers the tension between two surfaces; cleanses and helps remove impurities.
Viscosity controlling — Increases viscosity and gives the product its texture.
Astringent — Temporarily tightens the skin or the pores.
Abrasive — Helps remove particles through friction (polishing, scrubbing).
