Hydrolyzed Alpha-Glucan Polysaccharide
Polysaccharide of plant origin obtained by chemical synthesis and hydrolysis. This ingredient performs several functions: emulsifier to stabilize water-oil mixtures, film-forming agent to form a film on the surface, binder to improve cohesion, exfoliant for the removal of dead cells, and opacifier to increase the opacity of formulations.
Roles & functions
Emulsifying — Allows phases that do not naturally mix, such as water and oil, to be blended together.
Film forming — Forms a film on the surface of the skin or hair.
Binding — Binds together the ingredients of a solid formula (powder, stick).
Exfoliating — Helps remove dead cells from the surface of the skin.
Opacifying — Makes the product less transparent.
