Hydrogenated palm glycerides
Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides are synthetic derivatives of plant origin, derived from palm oil. They play several roles in cosmetic formulations: emollient to soften the texture, surfactant and emulsifier to stabilize water-oil mixtures, and thickening agent to increase viscosity.
Roles & functions
Skin conditioning — Keeps the skin in good condition and protects it; improves its comfort.
Emollient — Softens and smooths the skin while limiting water loss.
Surfactant — Lowers the tension between two surfaces; cleanses and helps remove impurities.
Emulsifying — Allows phases that do not naturally mix, such as water and oil, to be blended together.
Viscosity controlling — Increases viscosity and gives the product its texture.
