Bis-methoxy PEG-114 polycaprolactone diol/IPDI copolymer
Synthetic copolymer obtained by polymerization of polycaprolactone diol and isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI). It fulfills several roles in cosmetic formulations: surfactant, emulsifier, film-forming agent, solvent, and pH regulator, particularly in hair care products.
Roles & functions
Hair conditioning — Improves the appearance, softness and manageability of the hair.
Surfactant — Lowers the tension between two surfaces; cleanses and helps remove impurities.
Emulsifying — Allows phases that do not naturally mix, such as water and oil, to be blended together.
Film forming — Forms a film on the surface of the skin or hair.
Solvent — Dissolves other ingredients to incorporate them into the formula.
Buffering — Adjusts and stabilises the pH of the formula.
