Propylparaben ist ein synthetisches Konservierungsmittel, dessen Aufgabe es ist, die mikrobielle Vermehrung in kosmetischen Formulierungen zu verhindern. Es wird auch als Duftstoff verwendet. Es handelt sich um einen chemisch synthetisierten Inhaltsstoff.
